Join Us in Supporting the National Roller Coaster Museum on August 16 – National Roller Coaster Day

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I recently had the opportunity to visit the National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives in Plainview, Texas, and I was truly impressed by the incredible work being done there to preserve the history and legacy of our industry. The museum is a remarkable tribute to the creativity, engineering, and passion that have shaped amusement parks for generations.

As you may know, maintaining and expanding this archive requires ongoing support. That’s why I’m reaching out to you — as fellow amusement park professionals and enthusiasts — to join a collective industry effort to raise funds for the museum.

We’d like to use Sunday, August 16th — National Roller Coaster Day — as a unified day of giving back to the institution that celebrates the very attractions that define our parks. Each of us can contribute in our own creative way — whether it’s through special in-park promotions, rounding up guest purchases, donation drives, ride-themed fundraisers, or online campaigns.

The goal is simple:
To come together as an industry to generate awareness and financial support for the National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives, ensuring that the stories, artifacts, and innovations that built our world of thrills continue to be preserved and shared for generations to come.

Let’s show what our community can do when we work together. With each park participating, the collective impact will be significant — and the legacy of roller coasters will be that much stronger.

If you’re interested in joining this effort or would like additional details on coordinating your park’s participation, please reach out. Together, we can make this National Roller Coaster Day one to remember — not just for our guests, but for the entire amusement industry.

With appreciation and enthusiasm,

Eric Anderson
